This weekend was jam-packed with two incredible events that addressed the issue of modern slavery.  We learned a lot this weekend: the structure of the business of human trafficking, the organizations that are working to put a stop to the crime, how we can be abolitionists.  While all of this is beyond important, we were reminded of something even more valuable: social justice and Jesus are inextricably intertwined, and at the very core of our faith is a commitment to social justice.

Our calling is to not just believe in Jesus, but to follow Him.  It is in this act of following Jesus that we will inevitably find ourselves feeding the homeless, walking to stop child trafficking, or loving complete strangers.  This weekend, I saw an amazing opportunity to follow Jesus in the current abolitionist movement, and the truth is, I have never been more excited to follow Him.
