Here’s something I realized today after hearing some encouraging news from a friend: Little actions, even those you won’t remember in a few years, make a difference! A year ago, I met a girl in Washington, D.C., who is passionate about social justice, particularly the Invisible Children organization. I can’t even remember, but we must have had a conversation about helping the homeless. I shared a couple of my thoughts about how to reach out to the less fortunate, and now, a year later, she’s written to me, telling me that God spoke to her through my simple act of sharing my thoughts about the homeless!
Little things make a difference. Saying “Hello” to a homeless person on the street makes a difference. It says, “I see you. I know you are there. God loves you.” God speaks through our little words, our simple gestures, and our small actions. So, even though all of the planning and deep thought that goes into our social justice projects is important, it is not the only way to reveal God’s kingdom in our world! God is here now, in us, and all we have to do is let him guide us through the simple routines of our daily lives!
Make a difference! Do little things. :)
